I knew this day would come . Gionee has finally joined the bandwagon of smartphone manufacturers following the bezelless trend.

I'm actually wondering when Tecno, Infinix and iTel will join the bandwagon.

The Gionee M7 sports a FullVision display with an 18:9 ratio and a massive 4,000 mAh battery.

Do you know it's actually the first phone with a Helio P30 processor to hit the market just after Mediatek announced the new chipset in August .

Trust me the processor isn't too bad in fact I think it's quite impressive. It has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz. The phone also comes with 6 GB of RAM and an internal memory of 64 GB. You can also increase the storage with an SD card (up to 256 GB).


If you're a lover of big screens this is definitely one device you'll love. It has a 6.01” diagonal display and comes with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

The Gionee M7 comes in five colors - Sapphire Blue, Star Blue, Maple Red, Champagne Gold and Black. It will cost around $422 (N168,000). It'll be available in Nigeria in a couple of months. However you can still order it from Gearbest or Aliexpress.

Facebook Messenger reaches same number of users as WhatsApp

Messenger’s Facebook instant messaging application, which was launched in August 2011 managed to reach the same number of active users per month, as the world’s best-known app, WhatsApp.
In mid-2016 Facebook Messenger reported that it surpassed the figure of one billion active users per month and one year later, through its social networks, it managed to match the number of people using WhatsApp, the app most known to world level.
According to David Marcus, direct manager of Messenger in the social network created by Mark Zuckerberg, detailed that although WhatsApp is also part of the family of Facebook applications since it was bought in late 2014, one of the most recognized app in the world can be considered a success, Frontera said. In the past months, WhatsApp has included new features in its service such as the ability to place messages on the main page of its users, a function it named states, as well as a business service, focused on helping businesses to get in touch with possible buyers.

9Mobile Now Lets You Watch Videos On YouTube For Free

I saw this offer a couple of days ago and I decided to wait until I get feedback from 9mobile customers before making this post so as to let me get more information. The YouTube plan so far is pretty impressive and works very well. You can watch videos from 1AM-5AM every morning.



According to what I've gathered so far, the data plan is capped at 2GB per night. You're eligible for the plan once you subscribe to a data plan of above N500. Considering 9Mobile's data service that's a bit shaky, some people might decide to pass on this but definitely..

Although, I'm thinking Google might secretly have a hand in this.

Well my suspicions are actually based on the fact that Google has been promoting their YouTube Go app around Nigeria and this might just be a way of allowing people to watch more YouTube videos for free.

It's a nice offer though I'm actually thinking about the geeks who would want to use this data plan for downloading apps instead by using tunneling softwares.

Glo declares 28th Sept As Free Data Day, See How To Be Eligible

In the previous month, Glo announced its first Free Data day which gave eligible Glo users up to 200mb for free but due to order from NCC, Glo had to stop it mid day and only a few Glo users were able to enjoy the offer. Now Glo has decided to launch a version 2.
According to a message by Glo;

“All Glo customers can now enjoy a whole day of free data when they meet set of voice and/or data usage threshold within 7 days to the free data day”.

Glo has now declared 28th September as another Glo free day and just like the first one, there is no subscription or opt-in code. The only thing you need to do to be eligible is to meet Glo’s requirements.
How to be Eligible for Glo Free Data Day
To be eligible for the free data day, just make sure you do any of the two things below within 7days before 28th September.
1. Use N150 or more on voice calls + 100MB or more on data.
2. Make voice calls of up to N250 or above.
If you meet any of the two requirements above before the date, Glo will automatically send you the eligibility message.
Note:
The Glo free data is capped at 200mb and all customer is eligible as long as you meet the requirements above.
